The Wine Bar light bites, tapas & more The story of tapas claims that while on long trips in Spain travelers would stop and rest with a glass of wine or sherry. With the wind, dust and insects an inn keeper placed a slice of bread over the glass to protect it. When they ordered another they asked for a tapa or "Cover" just like the first. From this ham was added and Tapas was born. At "the Wine Bar" as in Sweet Basil’s Café, we are dedicated to the principles of ‘farm to table’. We source local-organic ingredients whenever possible, though we also import many ingreidients from Spain, France and Italy. Our menu is inspired by traditional tapas dishes....but we add our own original ideas. We have tried to offer as many vegetarian dishes as possible on our Tapas menu and will of course have vegetarian specials also. Our dishes feature the tastes of the Northwest with appropriate gyspsy influences. Our focus is on quality ingredients and a cuisine which is pure, simple and playful.
